It is my experience that most people desire to live a life of victory and not defeat. However, most rarely discover the victorious life God’s Word promises. A key is believing Paul’s word about defeat and victory. In Colossians 1:13-14 Paul states the following: “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us in the kingdom of his dear son. In whom we have redemption through his blood, ever the forgiveness of sins.”

Did you catch it? Please reread the Scripture again. Moving from defeat to victory in any situation is a matter of belief and not an action on our part. The inspired Word of God is revealing to us that His Son, delivered us fro the power of darkness. Since it is past tense, it has already happened. Because it has already happened the only action necessary is surrender our effort of trying to fix the situation, problem, or circumstance and believe the truth it is finished. An example will illustrate.

Someone struggling with hopelessness is exhausting all their efforts and resources in attempts to move from the kingdom of darkness into the victory kingdom. Because it is spiritual in nature, the only way to victory is belief in what God says is true about the situation.

Paul further states we have been “translated into the kingdom of his dear son.” What do we do to be translated? Nothing! Nothing can be done because it is spiritual in nature. Therefore, believing connects us to and with this truth that brings total freedom.

Maybe your situation will not change because God is revealing to you that human effort do not work. By believing only, we can enter into any situation and discover victory over defeat.
