Dr. Nation worked in restaurant management, sales and marketing for a total of 7 years. He also began three different youth ministries in several schools. This experience enabled him to begin Abundant Life Christian Counseling Services and write the unique course, How To Begin A Counseling Ministry
and Take It Higher.

Psychiatry Is In Trouble

Author Jay Adams in his landmark book "Competent To Counsel" states: Eminent psychiatrists have become disillusioned. In 1955 the American Psychiatric Assocation held a symposium on "Progress in Psychiatry." Here is the sort of statementw which appeared in the published accounts: "Psychotherapy is today in a state of disarray almost exactly as it was 200 years ago." In an address to the A.P.A. the next year, 1956, Percival Bailey said: The great revolution in psychiatry has solved few problems... One wonders how long the hoary errors of Freud will continue to plague psychiatry. Patients, failing to recover after years of analysis and thousands of dollars later, have als been wondering about the boasts of psychiatry. Some, getting worse, have begun to suspect that many of their problems are latrogenic (that is, treatment induced). H.J. Eysenck, Director of the University of London's Department of Psychology, recently wrote: The success of the Freudian revolution seemed complete. only one thing sent wrong.
