How awesome and transformational is God’s plan of salvation. However, we are not just
forgiven, but we are born again children of God with a totally new past, present, and future,
Colossians 2:13.
Mike Quarles in his book “One Day At A Time” states on page 25 the following:
“Christians aren’t just forgiven sinners who get to go to heaven when they die, but
in the meantime it’s a mean time. Thank God for good Friday and the forgiveness
of our sins, but that’s only half the gospel. The other half is Easter and the
Resurrection and the new life we have in Christ. Not only are we new creations in
Christ, but Luke 4:18 says that Jesus also came ‘to proclaim freedom’ and ‘to
release the oppressed.’”
Praise God for the birthright of every believer. What do I have to do to experience this
new life? Answer: It is not what has to be done but what has to be believed. Just as salvation is
a gift that is received through belief in Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and ascension, the new
life He offers begins there, also.
Many believers accept salvation as a free gift, but fail to see the new life He offers begins
at the salvation experience and continues thereafter.
Our freedom from depressiveness, anxiousness, fears,. worries, doubts, confusion, life’s
hurts, abandonment, guilt, shame, etc. was all purchased by the love and grace of God.
I overcame sixteen years of depressiveness and you can overcome your bondage, also.
Expand your belief to include freedom from sin to also freedom to a new life in Christ. By do
doing, your life will have new meaning and purpose just as mine and countless others.
